Finally recovered

Well, we have finally recovered from our vacation. I think we needed a vacation from our vacation. We had such a good time, it is just a lot different when you vacation with children.
This last week we have been unpacking and getting things back where they belong. We have not completed this task, but when is it ever completed?

Today, Mom came down to visit. Missy dropped Hannah off for dinner with us. Mom, Mylie, and I went shopping before she got here. New York and Co. is having a great sale. I got a couple of tops for $8, and some shorts for buy one get one half off. Mom ran into some great deals at Coldwater Creek. That is her favorite store. I like the clothes in there for Mom. They are very trendy as well as age appropriate.

Tomorrow, Mylie and I are going to the Moore Family Reunion. It is at lunch time, and I can't wait to see everyone. I didn't go last year because I had just had Mylie. The year before, we went and had a wonderful time.

Sunday, Mylie and I will go in to McMinnville to see my dad, then we will head back home to have Father's Day with Justin when he returns from work.

Not a whole lot going on next week. I am sure we will find ourselves out by a pool somewhere if this weather keeps up like it is. Although, tonight we got some storms.

I will try and post some more pics later. I am tired and ready for bed. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Happy Father's Day.

Our Last Day

Today we slept in a little bit, Mylie woke up with a low grade fever. She seemed to be feeling o.k. though. Justin and I went to the beach while Grammie played with Mylie. Justin and I both got a lot of sun. The weather was very nice today. Justin stayed out about an hour and then Mom came down to meet me and we went to the pool for a swim. I was tired and hot so I went back up to the condo while she stayed out in the sun for a while. After lunch and a nap, we all loaded up to go and eat seafood one last time. We went to the Crab House over at Barefoot landing. It was amazing. I had crab cakes which were the best. Mom, Nanny, and Poppa all had platters with lots of things on them. Justin had the seafood bar which had snow and king crab legs. He really enjoyed his meal. Afterwards, we went to the beach for some pictures. The wind was blowing very hard but it was nice. Now, we are sitting around the table listing to Justin tell some stories which I am afraid are going to scare Nanny and Mom. The cars are packed are we are almost ready to go. We are getting up early and finishing packing and hitting the road.

Day 6

Mylie woke up without a fever this morning so, we got ready and went to the pool for a little while. We were there for maybe 30 minutes before she got tired. So, we came back up to the condo for her to take a nap. When she woke up she had more fever so, we gave her more Motrin. She is still playing a little here and there and is not showing any other symptoms. I consulted her Doctor to make sure we were taking the right precautions. She agreed to continue Motrin and wait it out. If she has fever when we get back to the boro, we will take her to the Doctor. So, we have spent most of today resting and lounging around the condo. Mom and I got out for a little drive. We drove up the road that follows the beach and saw some beautiful houses. Then we went back to the shops at Barefoot Landing. I picked up a t shirt and some hoop earrings, and she got some earrings and chips and salsa. We stopped for a lemonade and a cookie. The shop had strawberry shortcake cookies that were awful! I guess I am spoiled to my cousin's cookies! We threw the strawberry ones straight in the trash. Oh, we also got Christmas ornaments as well. Tonight we fixed breakfast for supper. It was very good, but I am tired of smelling like bacon. Ha! Justin and I went for a walk on the beach after Mylie went to bed. The weather has been pretty close to perfect while we are here.

Day 5

Yesterday, Justin, Mylie and I took off to Myrtle Beach to go to Broadway on the Beach. We had such a good time walking around and seeing the sights. We ate lunch at Tony Roma's. Next week starts the busy season down here, so everything is very quite with just a few people. At the restaurant there were maybe 4 other tables besides us. It makes for very good service. Mylie started getting hot and sleepy so, we made our way back to the condo. She went down for a nap, but when she woke up, we noticed she was still hot. I took her temp and it was over 102. So, I had to go straight to the store and buy some Motrin. Her temp came down but we have been battling it every since. She has been sleeping a lot and not eating very much, but she is still playing a little. That night we stayed in and just let her rest. After she went to sleep for the night, Justin and I went back over to Barefoot Landing for the fireworks show at 10:15. It was very nice and my camera did not want to cooperate. We got some ice cream after the show and walked around the shops for a little bit. Thanks to Grammie for keeping a close eye on Mylie!

Help Please!

My dearest friend Tamara, from Changing More Than Diapers, is a finalist in a photo contest. She needs your vote to win a wii. If anyone deserves this wii, it is her family. Tamara has 4 children and a wii would be great for them! As you can imagine, feeding and clothing a family of 6 is not cheap, especially on one income, so this would be a wonderful "happy" for them! Please help her win by voting! Thanks a million!

Click here to get to the website, 5 minutes for mom, then click on vote now! You want to select Changing More Than Diapers. The picture that is a finalist, and is at the top of this post, is of her youngest girl painted in mud running around the back yard! It is too cute!

For those who don't know, the highlighted word "here" is where you click. The link is embedded in the word!
If you would like to help out a little more, you could put a post on your blog, send a email, post it on your myspace, facebook, or anywhere else you can think of!

Day 4

Yesterday we woke up around 7 and at breakfast then got ready for a morning at the beach. Within 30 mins. of being at the beach, Mylie was ready for her nap. She was worn out. We sat by the waves and she settled down. Then mom decided she would take Mylie up to the condo for her nap. Justin and I stayed down at the ocean for about another hour. We ate lunch here at the condo. Mom, Nanny, Mylie and I went out for a little shopping. Nanny found some really pretty jewelry, Mom found some cute capris, and I got the paisley purse I wanted. We then went to find some fresh seafood for dinner. We found a wonderful seafood market and bought 2.5 lbs of steamed shrimp, oysters, and scallops. We also got items to make a salad. I got some chicken for me since I am not a big seafood eater. Nanny fried the oysters and scallops and we had a wonderful dinner here at the condo. Poppa said it was better than eating at a restaurant. After dinner, Mom, Justin, Mylie and I went to walk on the beach. Mylie had other plans. She would walk toward the condo or toward the ocean. She did not want to walk along the beach. Her toe keep catching the sand and she would fall down. One time she fell in a puddle and got her belly all wet! Ha! She was covered in sand by the time we got back to the condo. Needless to say, she was exhausted and ready for a bath and then bed. After she went down, we all sat on the balcony and talked for a few hours. Poppa and Justin traded stories as Mom, Nanny and I listened. We had a really good time just sitting and talking.

Day 3

Today, Justin Mylie and I went shopping at Barefoot Landing. I got a cute little lime green purse from Anything Joe's and can't wait to switch my stuff over. I want to go back to look some more. I saw the cutest paisley bag there too. We also went to Belches N' Burps. I picked up some California Salsa that was to die for! We came straight back and ate every bite of it. Along with some fresh cantaloupe, pineapple, and strawberries with dip for lunch. Mylie went down for an early nap so we sat on the balcony for the longest time just watching the waves and the people enjoying the beach. It was really hot today and very windy. We went to Preston's for an early bird dinner. It was a seafood buffet with crab legs, Justin's favorites. I am not big on seafood. They had popcorn shirmp which was very good, thats all the seafood that I ate there. We came back to the condo in hopes of a walk on the beach, but the wind was just too much. The sand was blowing and stinging our legs. I hope that doesn't mean a storm is coming. If it is pretty tomorrow morning we are planning for another morning at the beach.

(girls, if you see anything at Joe's that you would like, let me know and I will pick it up for you, prices are much cheaper at the store.)

A Day at the Beach

Today we woke up and went out to the beach. Mylie and her Daddy played in the sand for most of the morning. They walked back and forth from the water to the umbrella many times. That was Mylie's favorite thing to walk in the sand. She loved the ocean water and wanted to walk straight out into it. She was not afraid of the water at all. They also built sandcastles. She wanted to have both shovels in her hands at all times. Later, we came back to the condo for lunch and then a nap. We went back out to the beach this afternoon. The weather was very nice with a bit of wind. I am glad we made it today without a sunburn.

We're at the Beach!

We finally made it to the Beach! We are in North Myrtle Beach ready to spend a week full of relaxation and fun. Yesterday, we arrived at our condo around lunch time, it was not ready until 3, so we went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack. When we got back to the condo, we unpacked and headed straight for Wal Mart! Ha! We came back unpacked again and ate a bite for supper. Justin and I walked on the beach last night for a little while. The weather was overcast during the day and a little windy last night. The water felt nice on our feet. We all turned in early. I guess we were tired from traveling for 2 days and unpacking. I will try and post often on our trip. I can't wait to get some pictures of Mylie on the beach. I am trying to watch the weather now, to see if we want to go to the beach today or wait until tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Finally

I finally got around to baby proofing the kitchen. I left one cabinet for Mylie. It has all of her sippies and plates in it. She loves playing in it. It is so funny, she knew right what to do. She climbed in and started playing away!
