On the Move!

Mylie took some steps today, walking behind her push toy. For the past couple of days she has been very intent on pulling up on the couch and moving slowly back and forth. I did not think she would be able to use the push toy yet, but she proved me wrong! I have it on video and will try to figure out how to put it up here for you to see. We are very excited and scared at the same time. She has not conquered falling yet. Sometimes, she will fall on her bottom, others she goes forward or to the side, without much grace.

Also, I have gotten crafty again. I MADE A DRESS. It was so much fun and easier than I expected. All I have left to finish is the button holes and the him. I even covered buttons with the same material! I am so proud of myself. I hope to make many more. It is very rewarding to see her wearing something that I made!

Double Trouble!

Turns out Mylie has a double ear infection. I wasn't sure if I should even take her to the Doctor, but I decided to on Friday morning. She had a runny nose and a cough, but she was playing fine and still sleeping through the night. I thought it was just a cold. I noticed a couple of days ago that she was pulling her hair and smacking her head when she nursed. I didn't realize that her ears were hurting. So, we are on antibiotics for 10 days and maybe that will take care of it. Please keep her in your thoughts!

Another Cold?

Well, Mylie has a cold again. I can tell she does not feel very well. She has so much drainage and has been coughing for a couple of days now. Every time she sneezes, she blows a snot bubble. It is so funny! I will try to get a pic tomorrow. Boy, can you tell that I am a first time mom? What person in their right mind thinks their kids snot bubbles are cute? Anyway, she is able to rest decently now so, for that I am thankful. I hope this does not turn into a ear infection or something worse. I haven't been feeling my best either. Mom came down today to spend the day with us. She let me take a much needed nap. I was so grateful to get that chance. I still don't think that I fully went to sleep. I could hear Mylie and mom playing and talking. They weren't being loud, I guess I still had my mom ears on.

Not much else going on lately. We are getting ready for the ice and snow that are supposed to be here early in the morning. Who knows if we will really get any. Every time I get excited, nothing happens. So, I am trying to blow it off. Justin thinks he will get the call early in the morning to come into work early. Usually if he feels it, it will happen. Everyone be careful if you have to go out tomorrow morning.

Side note, I just got a text on my cell from someone I don't know. It was from a myspace account and it was trying to sell me a loan! How crazy is that? I didn't know that I could get junk text on my phone!! That is ridiculous!

Today, Mom, Mylie and I went to Target. We found the cutest valentines outfits for Mylie. They are so cute! This evening, Mom helped me cook dinner. We had chicken and veggies and mac and cheese. I have this thing about cooking chicken. I am so afraid of it. I don't like to touch it and I am scared of under cooking it. I really like the Tyson's chicken that is cut and ready to cook. That way it removes one of the worst steps for me. I hate having to trim it because it involves touching raw chicken. Anyways, it turned out really good. Thanks mom for everything you did today! I'm off to bed, and I am going to put my cold feet on Justin and make him really mad! Hee Hee!

9 Month Check Up

Today was Mylie's 9 month check up at the doctors office. NO SHOTS TODAY! Yeah! They did prick her finger to draw some blood. They are checking her iron and lead levels. The lead check is new because of all the lead in toys that were recalled. I am grateful that they are checking for that. But, I am disappointed in the girls at the lab. They put a band aid with cotton underneath on a baby's finger. This was at the end of the appointment, so we were on the way out the door. That is an obvious chocking hazard. The girl did not even mention this as we were leaving. Many people will put their baby in the car seat in the back with no one else back there. Babies instinctively put their fingers in their mouth, witch would cause this problem. I was very upset, and removed the band aid on the way home. Anyway, Mylie weighed 20 lbs and 7 oz. She was 26.75 inches and very healthy!

Wednesday was her 9 month pictures at McAfee in Morrison, TN. If you need a place to have pictures made, that is the place to go. They are wonderful with babies and children. Their pictures are amazing. I have yet to be disappointed in their work. We always have trouble deciding which pictures to order. If you have a little girl between 3 and 6 they are starting the spring fairy special. If you haven't seen these pictures you need to. I could not find any examples on their website, but contact them I am sure they will let you see some.

Hope everyone is well and having a great week! It's almost Friday!

We Have Snow!!

It's not a lot but it's SNOW! Maybe it will be more in a little while. I would love to get up and be able to play in the snow with Mylie. We haven't had a snow that was enough to play in since she has been born. Hopefully we will get some more snow overnight and wake up to a white blanket. I would have loved to take her out in it tonight but she was so tired by the time we got home from church. She ate and went straight to bed. So, go flush some more ice cubes! Be careful if you have to get out in it!

I can hear the neighbor's children outside playing in the snow!!

I remember snow days as a child. It was so much fun. We would go out and stay till our noses were too cold to stand. Then we would come inside and mom would have towels down and for us to wrap up in when we took off our wet clothes. She would fix hot coco or spiced tea (my fav). What are your favorite snow day traditions?

Please Snow!!

Oh, how I hope it snows! Justin would kill me if he knew I was posting this. Many of you know because of his job it would be bad and lots of work for him if it does. I don't care, I WANT SNOW!!! So, do your snow dance, flush ice cubes, put your pj's on backwards, or what ever you need to do so that it will SNOW!

Can you see them?

See Mylie's new teeth? If you look close I bet you will be able to! She now has 4 teeth. Man, am I glad that they have come in. It seems like the top hurt her a little bit more coming in than the bottom ones did. Once they are in a little bit better I want to try new finger foods with her. Do you all have any suggestions? Any favorites of your children? Maybe something that was easy for them to chew on or seemed to feel good on their teeth?

We have such a busy week ahead. Monday I am going to help some friends with their Quickbooks. Tuesday we have Mylie's 9 month pictures and then dinner with Dad. Wednesday is church, Thursday, Mylie's Granna usually comes down. Friday we have a birthday party and the baby group is getting together.

Mylie has learned how to click her tongue. It is the most precious face in the world when she does it. I think it stemmed from pulling her tongue back over her top teeth when they were hurting her so bad. Now she realizes that she can make a noise and she is having a ball with it.

Today we went to a bowling birthday party. Happy Birthday Jacob. Here is a pic of Mylie and Alex. It was cyber bowling. The babies did not know what to think of the black lights and everything glowing! She was trying to pick the fuzz off of my shirt. How embarrassing is it when you go to a place with black lights and only then do you realize that your shirt is covered with fuzz! Ha!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Check this out...

Joy is giving away a surprise dinner for 2! What a wonderful idea! I hope I win! I am not a very good cook, so I am sure Justin would love not having to eat my food! Ha Ha!
Go on over to Joy's page and leave a comment saying you heard about it at Mylie and Me. There you will find the rules if you want to participate and post on your blog as well!
Good luck!

70 degrees in January!

What a beautiful day we had today. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect. Abby, Mylie and I went with a couple of friends to the playground this afternoon. We had a wonderful time enjoying the nice weather. It felt good to spend some time outside in the sunlight without having to be all bundled up. Tomorrow will be a different story, it is supposed to storm all day. Sad, I know. I will have to come up with something really fun to keep us busy so I don't stress about the storm. I have some pictures from today. I just realized that it has been a while since I have posted any pics of Mylie. Here are some from today when Mylie and Abby were swinging. I put them in the baby swing back to back. They love it! They will throw their arms out and just laugh. The first pic I think is the first time we have caught her teeth showing! The top right one is through the skin and the top left is on its way!

Planning a Vacation

So, I have done a little research and I would love to go to Tybee Island this summer. It looks beautiful and it is not very far from Savannah, GA. So, my problem, I have never been and I'm not sure where we should stay. I have looked the rentals over and over that come up on Google, but still not sure. I am very leery of staying somewhere for the first time. I ask that if you know anything about Tybee Island and where to stay or eat or anything, please comment and let me know. Good or Bad. We are looking for at least a 2 bed 2 bath, possibly more, depending on who all in the family says they want to go. Word has it that Paula Deen's new restaurant is open in Savannah, so I am sure we will be going there one night! Oooooh I can't wait.

Hope the new year has started off well for everyone!
