Walden Farms

Today we went to Walden Farms. During the fall they have a wonderful pumpkin patch. We went last year and hope to make this an annual family trip. Most of the things there to do and see are free. If there is a cost, it is very minimal. Of course, the pumpkins cost a few dollars as well. We saw pumpkins from 1 dollar up to 20 dollars.

Can you find Mylie? The pumpkin was way bigger than she was. I think she was trying to get a bite of the pumpkin!

They had a petting zoo and Mylie really enjoyed seeing all the animals. She stuck her finger in the chicken pen and one of them pecked her hand. She was so mad at the chickens. It was too funny!

Here is Justin pointing out the offending chicken.

Here she is in the pumpkin patch. It looked a little dry, but she had a blast running through and picking up the pumpkins. She tried to throw them like a ball.

I love this picture of her face, but it really looks like she has lost her hands! I think she was cold, it was windy while we were there.

Mylie posed herself in this picture. I had her in front of all the pumpkins and she wanted to climb up in the middle of them.

Our Final Days in Houston

Saturday we went to the outlet mall, Houston Premium, that was really close to Nana's house. They had tons of cool stores. I did a little Christmas Shopping and also got Mylie and I new pair of tennis shoes from New Balance. I got a cool pair for 31 dollars total and Mylie's were pink and grey for $10. I couldn't believe how cheap they were. That is usually what I pay for my shoes at Marty and Liz in Murfreesboro. Later that day we went back to the house to swim and have dinner. Oh, for lunch, we went back to Chewy's and I ate my weight in chips and creamy jalapeno dip. I have got to figure that recipe out. It is sooooo good! When I get it down, I will post it so all of you can try it. Don't think Tamara and I didn't debate how we could get some of that stuff home. Were were thinking about dry ice. Ha!

Sunday we celebrated Tamara's Birthday. It isn't until the 15th, but since she wouldn't be there, they celebrated early. She got to pick the meal so we ate, flank steak marinated in Uncle Ron's Flank Steak Marinade, fresh steamed asparagus, cream corn, garlic bread, and Tamara had a special side all to her self, a artichoke. She is the only one who got one because they are really expensive. We spent the whole day by the pool in an attempt to keep the kids out of the car.

Today, we got up and got the last of our things together and left Texas. We got to our hotel about 5, and headed straight for the pool. Ha! We thought that would give the kids some good exercise since we have been traveling in the car for more than 6 hours. Now, the kids are asleep and Tamara and I are in our beds, both on our computers and watching t.v. life is good.

Please pray we have a save trip home tomorrow!

Shop till you drop.

Yesterday, we went to TWO malls and walked our selves ragged. The first mall, Galleria, had all of these really nice stores like, Tiffany & Co. LV, Juicy, Kate Spade, Gucci, and Fendi, and many more that I can't list. They also had a ton of children's stores. We visited Hanna Anderson which had a wonderful sale going on. We also stopped by Crazy 8, Oilily, and Jacadi. The kids were very good through our shopping trip. Then we went to Memorial City Mall. The first thing we did was ride the double decker carousal. Mylie loved it, and unfortunately we didn't get any pics because Tam forgot the battery for the camera. We walked all over that mall and stopped by a chocolate shop for a treat. Tyler got her ears re pierced, and we played on the soft play area.

Today, we got up early and went about an hour down the road to Brenham. That is home to Blue Bell Factory. We took a tour and had a sample of ice cream. It was delicious! Mylie really enjoyed it. During the tour, you stand in a room looking down at the workers. Mylie kept waving and blowing kisses to them. They got a really big kick out of it and were playing back with her. We did get pics but I haven't gotten them off of Tam's camera yet.

After the tour, the kids at lunch in the car on the way home and then went down for a nap. After naps, we went swimming and then got ready for dinner. We went to Korean B B Q. It was great. I don't know that I can describe it, but it was so good. Then to top all that off we went for Taiwanese ice cream. This I can describe. Heaven! It is shaved ice on the bottom, then shaved custard cream, then a scoop of strawberry ice cream, then mango ice cream, then four different types of fruit ( we picked kiwi, double mango, and pineapple) then sweetened condensed milk on top of it all. It was wonderful and I am stuffed. We are going to play cards and have some adult fun tonight. The kids are all asleep! Yea!

Wednesday in TX

Today, we walked to the park to let the kids play and enjoy some time outside. The weather was beautiful this morning. It wasn't very hot and nice walking weather. The park is about a mile away from Nana's house. The pathway winds through what they call the Bayou. It is in their neighborhood. Yes, it's that big of a neighborhood. The kids had a blast playing but the play things were a little bit too tall for Mylie to do by herself. So, she improvised. She found a stump to play with. I gave her a stick and some pine needles and she cleaned off the stump. She is always cleaning while playing. I know that she doesn't get this from me, it must be her Mimi. Ha!
After the park, we walked back to the house and loaded up to head for lunch. We went to Ph'o restaurant to eat. It is Vietnamese. We ordered white meat chicken soup. It had chicken broth, chicken, and clear noodles. It also contained some different spices. I tried my best to eat it but I had to stop because something didn't feel like it would settle right on my stomach. I gave the rest to Tyler to eat. She loved it. I love the fact that Houston has so many different eating options. The number of different cuisines is countless here. I am really enjoying being able to sample them. Tamara was concerned that I would be upset since I didn't like lunch. I totally expected not to like everything I try, but to at least try it out. We made a run through the drive through at Wendy's after lunch. Ha!
Then we headed back to the house for naps, then more swimming before dinner. After the kids went to bed, one of Nana's friends came over with brownies and we all watched the movie Baby Momma. It was just as funny as the first time I saw it. Now, it's late and I am in bed trying to hold my eyes open. I know I should sleep because with Tamara there is never a dull moment. We have the lots more on our list of things to do in Houston. So, stay tuned!

Fun Day!

Today we went to the Children's Museum of Houston. We had so much fun. I'm not sure who had the most fun, the grown ups or the kids. This museum was way cooler than Adventure Science or Discovery Center back home. The kids just played and played. For lunch we went to Udipi Cafe. It was Indian cuisine. Luckily, there was a buffet for lunch so I got to try many different things. I did like it, but I'm not sure that it would be on my list to go back to. I couldn't even tell you what it was that I had. I asked our waiter but I could not understand anything that he said. The wait staff played with Mylie and of course, she talked to them and blew kisses back to them. After lunch, we went back to the house and rested. Then for dinner I cooked my famous baked spaghetti. It was a big hit a well. After dinner, we went for a late swim to try and wear the kids out before bed. That mission was accomplished. Mylie was so tired that she began to pull my hair and not act very nice. So she went to bed a little bit early. For the most part, she has been a very good girl. Some days we are not at the house for her to get a full nap so she has to nap in the car or stroller. This causes her not to get a full nap so she get grumpy toward the end of the day. I don't think I can blame her for that. All in all, we are having a blast and staying very busy. Here are a few pics from today.

So, the birthday party was very fun. We went to Dry Creek Cafe and the food was wonderful. When we got back to the house we went for a swim and then cooked dinner. The kids went down for bed and the adults stayed up and played cards. We had so much fun. We played peanuts and spades. Peanuts was a new game to me.
Today, we went to eat lunch at one of Tamara's favorite places. We went to Chuy's. They have the best creamy jalapeno dip ever. It comes free with the chips and salsa. After lunch, we went to IKEA. That place is the best. I loved it. I wanted to get Mylie this chair but they were out of stock. Bummer. I have to wait until they get some in stock hopefully before Christmas. So, after a 3 hour trip to IKEA we came back and swam again before dinner. Mylie is really enjoying being with her friends. They all treat each other like brothers and sisters. Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I'll check back in tomorrow.

We're Here!

We made it yesterday about 3:30 to Tamara's Mom's house. The car ride was way better than I expected. When we got here, we ate some wonderful goulash, then unpacked the car. After that, we put on our bathing suits and went for a swim in Nana and Poppa's pool. After dinner, we took a LONG walk to the playground and let the kids wear them selves out. After the hike back to the house, we ate desert and turned in for bed. This morning, we have taken things easy and the kids are now napping. When they get up, we will be going to a birthday party at a restaurant in down town. We are having so much fun. Hopefully we will remember to take our cameras out today and get some pics of the kids. Hope everyone is doing well! We will check back in soon!

Arkadelphia

We made it about half way! 5 kids, 2 adults, one van and lots of movies later we are finally settled in at the hotel. The kids have been great. Right now they are all laying on the bed watching some tv. We are going to get up in the morning without a traditional alarm, I think that Mylie alarm will work just fine. We will eat a breakfast provided by the hotel and then be on our way to Houston.

I had my Dr. apt. today. All was well and we heard the heart beat. It was fast like Mylie's was. Doc said everything looked great and right on schedule. That has put my mind at ease. Nausea has been down today as well.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I haven't posted pics in a while, and hopefully on this trip I will get some worth posting.

Wondering where we've been?

We have been here mostly at home. I have not been feeling myself lately and am resting quite a bit. I would like to say finally that we are pregnant. I am due in May and have my first doctors visit Friday. I will keep everyone updated. I am nine weeks along, this is still very early, and I ask for your prayers throughout for our new baby. I remember being nauseous with Mylie but this time it seems to be ten times worse. Many have said that means its a boy. I think it has something to do with chasing after a 17 month old. I have really felt yucky for the past month and hopefully will begin feeling better soon.

So, Friday, Mylie and I will being heading out on a road trip. We are going to Texas with our dear friends to visit their Nanna and Poppa. I am so excited and a little nervous. I haven't been away from Justin for this long, especially with Mylie. I can't wait to experience a new city with Mylie and our friends. Tam says there is some really good food down that way. We are going to the Houston area. So, if you have been there and have any suggestions, feel free to post a comment and let us know what your "must see" is. Also, we will be driving with 5 kids, so any car ride games you can suggest would be wonderful as well. I will post and have pics from Houston soon! Hope everyone has a great hump day.
